For the children’s section of the Maryland State Library for the Blind, I designed an interactive environment that makes Braille more accessible, tactile, and engaging for young readers. The space incorporates a variety of textures and materials to encourage hands-on exploration, along with large-scale plexiglass installations featuring oversized Braille characters. The dimensional Braille allows children to physically trace and interact with the lettering while learning how Braille is constructed and read. By combining environmental graphics, tactile materials, and playful scale, the design transforms the library into an immersive learning experience that celebrates accessibility and helps children build familiarity and confidence with Braille.
